Ornamental Occasion 2015

Today was time for our annual Christmas event at our house. I have nicknamed it "Ornament Occasion" since we decorate or make ornaments after we have lunch together. We had around 30 people come this year! We actually managed to get a group picture just before we started lunch.

Everybody enjoyed potato, chili or chicken noodle soup for lunch with grilled cheese, garlic bread or rolls. The weather was so nice today we were able to eat outside and decorate ornaments outside on the front porch today.
 Then we had game time,
or nap time or rest time
or play time. I love this picture of these two little ladies playing together!

 or music time.
 Then it was CAKE time!
We had a "Happy Birthday, Jesus" cake and we sang to Jesus for His birthday
and all the kids helped to blow out the candle.
 Bekah thoroughly enjoyed her dessert.
Then it was ornament decorating time

Here is Rachel's creative "snowman on a sled." She also made me a cute snowman for our tree.

These kids along with Cole and Alexis and Rachel just had fun playing together and being outside all day. Here are the end of the afternoon popsicles. What a a blessing this warm day in December was!
 Here are the numbers:
Around 30 people
a 7 quart crockpot with a double batch of potato soup
a double batch of chili
a pot of chicken noodle soup
60 grilled cheese sandwich halves
3 platters of garlic bread, french bread and rolls
2 large plates of apple and orange slices
2 big cheesecakes
1 turtle pie
and a whole lot of fun!

Thanks to all who came and shared in the fun with us today! Thank you to Judith and Joy and all who helped with washing all those snowman bowls too!
We had a great Ornamental Occasion 2015! Looking forward to next year!
