Advent's Arrival

This past week we began our Advent journey for this year. Advent actually began on Sunday, but we waited to start on December 1st. This year we are using "Truth in the Tinsel." Last year, we used a Advent list out of a book I had read and the girls loved it, but I wanted to rotate and try something new this year. So far, the girls are loving "Truth in the Tinsel" too. Somehow, we have already managed to get behind on the day we are studying too but that is just part of the craziness of the December schedule. Some days we have done two ornaments which the big girls don't mind at all either.
Along with the craft each day, we have a short Bible lesson and devotional for each day that focuses on a different part of the Christmas story. Here we are making crowns and learning about Jesus's coming from the book of Isaiah.
Here we were learning about Zechariah and how important it is to believe God's promises.

This girl is liking the Advent crafts already too. I had glued on a couple of pieces of yarn for her and she picked up the glue and tried to put some on for Bekah too.
We are thankful for the opportunity to spend time as a family focusing on Jesus's birth and and how much He loves us in coming as a baby to live a pperfect life for us in our place and died in our place so that we could be forgiven and live forever with Him.
