Date Night!

We had been working out a time with Kay Kay for the girls to go over and play and Brent and I to have a date time and this afternoon was the day! We actually had a coupon for a discount for golf that ended the last day of February but something about 50 mph wind gusts and flurries all day today made us think that maybe this was not a good day for golf!
We got a few things worked on at home this afternoon while the girls were with Kay Kay and then headed out for a supper date before we picked the girls up.
Date night with my love! Love being able to spend time with him!
We ate supper in Lexington so we could pick the girls up fairly early.
They had a blast. Bethany was showing me her "fishy" (goldfish). Mr. Tom was at work but he had left goldfish (one of their favorite snacks) for the girls and Kay Kay.
The girls loved getting to spend some time with Mrs. Debbie this evening too.
Bethany loved to rub Miley (My-My to her) and bring her all her toys. This girl loves puppies, cats and babies.
Here are the big girls with their Frozen wands from Kay Kay. They played Barbies and danced and had chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese for supper ( another of their favorites!). They were telling us all about it as soon as we walked back through the door.
Bekah was sitting on Kay Kay's lap while we were all visiting a little after we got back. I noticed she was pretty quiet (she has mostly given up all napping, but she had a pretty busy day today) and in just a few minutes was sound asleep on Kay Kay's lap. We were all smiling about this. Bekah was about 4 weeks old when we first moved here and met Kay Kay and Kay Kay has always been able to get Bekah to sleep even when she was very little and had terrible colic. We smiled and she said "I can still get Bekah to sleep"
Thanks to Kay Kay, Mrs. Debbie and Mr. Tom for loving our girls and taking such good care of them and for blessing their parents with the opportunity to have a date night together!

Catching Up with The Coiners

Our friends, the Coiners, moved to Bluefield, Virginia over the summer to serve at a church there in Bluefield and we had been planning for quite a while to go visit them this weekend. We were planning to see our friends, the Sangers, while we were in West Virginia also but they were not feeling well.
Friday finally arrived and we headed to Bluefield. These girls had fun being reunited!

After lunch, they showed us around Bluefield and took us to see their church. It is neat-their house is in Bluefield, Virginia and their church is just over the border in Bluefield, West Virginia!
The girls loved seeing Hannah and Aleah's new Sunday School classes.

Bethany couldn't get enough of the little slide.
Here is the inside of the sanctuary at First Baptist Church where they are now serving.
We had fun just hanging out at their house Friday evening and all catching up together.

These two, Bekah and Hannah, had fun being back together! Hard to believe they are both 4 already!

This is what Bekah and Hannah looked like at one of their very first play days together back in December 2012

Look how much these little ladies have grown since the day they first
met!

Time slow down! These girls are now closer to their 2nd birthdays than their 1st birthdays...

Saturday's weather was a lot warmer than it had been so we got outside some too. The Coiners still had a lot more snow at their house than we did at home, so of course, everybody wanted to walk and play in it.
We had lunch together and visited the play place at the mall before it was time for us to head back home.

It was so good to get to catch up with my friend, Molly for a little while!
Thank you, Coiner family for a fun visit! We enjoyed getting to catch up with you all! We certainly miss your family but we are so glad for all the ways God is using you all where He has you serving now! Looking forward to getting together again soon!

A Night at the Theater

Last Thursday evening, we were invited by our friends Sarah and JD to come over to Lynchburg and bring the girls to a production by one of the local middle schools of "The Lion King." We surprised the girls-they knew we were going to see Mr. JD and Ms. Sarah but they didn't know what fun they had planned for them until we got to the theater. They were very excited.

This girl was so fun to watch. She wanted to sit in her own seat and look at the program. She barely weighed enough to hold her own seat down. After a couple of minutes she would bring her legs up and then drop them down and rock her seat up and down. She was basically doing baby sit up 30 or 40 times in a row. Sarah and I joked that we needed a theater seat at our house and she would be so entertained!
They requested no photography during the play itself so all my pictures are from before or after the play. The play itself was excellent! All of the middle school cast and crew did a wonderful job and the costumes were great! They even had excellent decorations in the lobby too.
We got to eat together afterwards and visit a little more and hear all about Sarah and JD's wedding plans. We are looking forward to celebrating with them at their wedding in June!
Hard to believe these guys have been friends more than 15 years already!

Thank you Sarah and JD for planning such a fun evening! It was a great show for the girls (and their parents) to see with you all! It is always fun to get to visit with you all as well! Looking forward to getting together again soon-and looking forward to June!

Snowy Day

The snow started early yesterday evening and stuck around most of the day.The snow kept us home all day for safety but we did manage to get the girls out for just a little bit between when the snow stopped late this afternoon to sled and play a little.
"Little Bear" was excited for more snow (pronounced "no" in an excited voice and pointing outside by the 19 month old  and wanted to go "fwed" (sled) again with her Daddy!
We have a couple of round sleds that don't go quite as fast and one longer rectangular sled. Bekah and Bethany were taking turns going down the hill with Brent. I would hold Bethany while he and Bekah went down and then Bekah would wait with me while Bekah and he went down the hill. Miss Creative (Rachel) decided she wanted to go down while she waited so she went in the garage and found a boogie board and down she went! Creativity at its best! She had a little trouble getting it going in the right direction but when she did, she went pretty far down the hill! That is her, the little pink dot down the hill by the fence.
Bethany loved to sled (fwed) again!
"Super Bekah" had fun climbing up on the snow piles while she waited her turn.
and could  hardly wait to sled again too.
Here are all the sledding buddies and our variety of sleds today.
Daddy conveyor belt was in full swing today too.

 Daddy and Little Bear
And of course, it would not not be a complete time in the snow for these girls without swinging in the snow too...
Enjoyed our few minutes of snowy day fun but definitely praying for the upcoming weather. It sounds like we are going to get ice, rain, and maybe more snow over the next little while. Praying all stay safe and warm!
