Merry Christmas with Mimi and Pop

Wednesday was our Christmas day with Mimi and Pop. Pop cooked his famous big breakfast for us to start the day. These girls had seconds on almost everything!

Just after breakfast/brunch, we headed to Monkey Joe's. It has all kinds of indoor inflatables here in Fayetteville. The big girls usually go almost every time they visit Mimi and Pop but their parents or their Bethany had not been before. They were thrilled!

On top of the excitement of Monkey Joe's, they got a new set of friends to play with too. My friend Miriam and her family were in NC visiting family from Florida. Miriam and I have been friends since we were born (really, I don't ever remember Miriam not being there) and our moms were very close friends). Her two younger girls, Julianna and Edie are almost the same age as our oldest two girls and they jumped right in and played together like they had known each other for years too! Miriam and I talked about how we wished Virginia and Florida were closer together because these girls had so much fun together! We are hoping they will come visit us sometime and see the snow too!

Somehow in all the fun of catching up, I didn't even get a picture of Miriam and I. Just looking at these pictures of our girls though brings back many memories of fun times Miriam and I had growing up together! It is not often you get blessed with a friend for 35 years! Miriam, it was great to see you my friend! Hopefully, it won't be so long next time before we get together again!

After our fun trip to Monkey Joe's, the girls get some special time with just Mimi and Pop. We had tried so hard to go see the Star Wars movie the week it came out and I was sick and we had to cancel plans twice. Mimi and Pop so sweetly agreed to keep the girls in the afternoon before supper so we could go on a date and see the movie while we were in Fayetteville. Thanks Mimi and Pop for blessing us with a great date afternoon!

Then we had Chinese food from one of our favorite Chinese restaurants for Christmas supper. Then it was time for presents.

Happy girl with a new Barbie doll!
Mimi topped off the evening with some of the best banana pudding I have ever eaten, not to mention it is Brent's favorite dessert. Now it was the parents who might have had more than one helping!
Merry Christmas from Mimi and Pop's house! We love you!

We also got to see my Grams for a visit on Friday. When we arrived, my cousin Haven was visiting with her family from Maryland. What a great surprise and so good to get to catch up with them for a little bit!
These 3 third cousins were fast friends!
These two are birthday buddies, born just 2 weeks apart!
It was great to see you all!

Bekah showing Grams her little bit of technology we got her. We are even hoping we might be able to teach her how to Skype one day so she can see the great-grands even more often! She says one things at a time! So first we taught her how to get to the blog to keep up to date and Brent made her a Facebook page. Go Grams!

Grams and both her big girls. Bethany was not staying still for a picture this time.
I am so thankful for good time with my Grams. We love you, Grams!

We had lots of good family time already. We missed Aunt Ashelyn, who was at a missions conference for the week but are looking forward to seeing her in just a few weeks! We also still had fun family time to come with Brent's family during the rest of our time in NC.
