A North Carolina Christmas Part 1

This past week brought us back to North Carolina for our family Christmas time. It was nice to have Christmas spread out over a few days with all the family. We started first celebrating Christmas with my Dad and family.
It was close to 75 degrees the day we spent at his house so the weather didn't feel much like winter time, but the girls loved being able to be outside instead and having Grandpa push them in the tire swing.
Brent worked with Bekah on some kicking skills in the front yard.
He still has his kicking skills. If you look very closely in this picture, the kicking tee is actually one of Rachel's shoes. Hey, if you don't have a tee, you improvise!
Bekah even talked Grandpa into seesawing for a little while.
Before supper, we found Bethany in the little sled that CiCi has by the tree. She was definitely fascinated with all things Christmas tree this year.
With the weather so nice, Dad grilled a great supper for us.
After supper, the girls and I had found some paper mache' owls and crosses for all the girls to paint, and we had lots of fun doing that.
Here are the big girls with their owls.
Then we all decided to go to the Meadow Lights before they closed for the season. A cousin on my Grams's side of the family puts up this large light display every year and we try to get the girls there each year to see it when we come down to visit.

We made it in time to ride both the carousel and the train around to see the lights. These were happy girls!

I told Bethany we were all done after the carousel ride and that we were going to ride the train and she grabbed back onto the carousel horse and said "no, no."
She loved riding the train once we got there and looking at the lights too though. There was definitely no getting her to look for a picture. She was way too busy looking at all the lights.

Notice Rachel giving the "I love you" sign in sing language on the side there.

The girls had fun opening their gifts. As you can see, we are looking forward to hours of Play-Doh fun.
Bethany had fun playing with Andrew and Ethan was a favorite too, especially when he helped feed her a few bites of chocolate cake for dessert.

We enjoyed our Christmas visit with Grandpa, CiCi, Andrew, Ethan and Emily. Thank you all for a fun and full day! We love you!
(And much more to come of our NC family Christmas!)
