Faith Mountain Baptist Church Homecoming, October 21, 2012 |
Sunday, October 21, 2012, we had our first Homecoming at Faith Mountain Baptist Church. It was a wonderful day! We had a 2 hour service that included worship music by Narrow Road interspersed with Scripture readings. We also had a message from Scripture given by Brother Bill, who was FMBC's interim pastor prior to our coming here to Faith Mountain. Brent finished the service by preaching a message from the book of John about allowing God to work in our lives and allowing Him to have access to every part of our lives, not trying to hold onto any part, since God now owns every part of who we are if we say we call Him Lord.

After the conclusion of the service, we, of course, had a meal together. This was a great time for us to spend time enjoying visiting together and lots of great food!

Homecoming was a special day for our family. One year ago, the end of this past week, we moved to Lexington with a 4 week old, a 2 year old and into temporary housing. We were certain of God's calling to this church and this place, though we were still seeing how He was working all the details out. We have seen Him work mightily in our family this year and we are thankful for the ways He is continuing to work in our family and our church and in His plans for our lives.
We are very blessed by our church family as well. Thank you to our FMBC family who has overwhelmed us with cards and gifts for our family for Pastor Appreciation Month. We are blessed to serve with you, we thank God for you and look forward to all God is going to do in His church here at FMBC!
