A Visit to North Carolina

Rachel enjoying her Bojagles
This past weekend, we headed to North Carolina for Brent to preach the Harvest Day services at Salemburg Baptist Church on Sunday. We left Saturday in order to have some time to visit with our family too. We left a little before lunch so it worked out by lunch time that we were back in Bojangles territory! We love Bojangles and, I think the closest one to us is over an hour, so any time we go down to North Carolina we make a Bojangles stop.
Our first stop to visit family was Uncle Jared and Aunt Brooke' s new house. Actually our family, and both Brent's brothers all bought homes within 6 months of each other. So Uncle Jared and Aunt Brooke just moved into their home just about a month ago. I was impressed by how much they have managed to unpack already and their new home is beautiful. Rachel and Rebekah particularly enjoyed playing in Uncle Jared's new office.

Both my girls found plenty of new things to see at Uncle Jared and Aunt Brooke' s. Rachel loved their big mirror and Rebekah liked being able to see out the front door. They also had fun with the bean bag and playing with Bert and Ernie with their aunt and uncle. Thanks for letting us come visit, Uncle Jared and Aunt Brooke! We enjoyed getting to see your new home!

Next we headed to Nana and Papa's house to spend the night so we would be close to Salemburg for church services the next day. We had hoped to go by Uncle Jason and Aunt Brittany's new house but they were out of town until Sunday. We are looking forward to seeing all they have done on their new home the next time we visit!
The girls enjoyed playing with their toys at Nana and Papa's. This is one of the first times we have gotten to visit since Rebekah was really old enough to play and interact. Nana, Papa and the girls had a great time together. Nana and Papa also got to see Rebekah the first time she stood up from sitting without holding onto anything. We tried to catch it on camera but she sat back down before we were able to get the picture!

Uncle Jason and Aunt Brittany came in early on Sunday to see the girls before church. Uncle Jason, Rachel and Rebekah had a good time playing with Dora's house together!

Mimi and Rebekah
We had planned to spend time at Mimi and Pop's house on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, Mimi came down with a terrible throat infection and was feeling really bad and Pop is having severe pain in his knee and is hardly able to walk. We also planned to see Big Mama and Big Papa (Brent's maternal grandparents) but Big Papa was not feeling well either. We are saying a prayer that each of them will feel better very soon and looking forward to seeing each of them when we visit next month!
We also had a great visit with my sister, my Grams, Boom Boom Papa and Nanny Joyce and my dad and family along with several other family members and friends. More to come about Harvest Day, celebrating Rebekah's birthday with our family in NC and our special day trip in NC before coming back to Virginia on Monday.

Thanking the Lord for Godly family who love Jesus and love each of us and the chance to spend time with them!

"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."                                                   Ephesians 3:14-21
