Friday Night Fun in Floyd, VA

Papa Jim and some of his friends usually come up to Roanoke for a weekend visit a few times a year. One of the places they always like to visit is the Floyd Country Store in Floyd, VA on a Friday night for live music. We have tried to meet them a few times before, but the schedule just didn't work out. Finally, this past Friday night, we were able to meet Papa in Floyd for supper and a little bluegrass music.

We enjoyed supper with Papa and a little old-fashioned candy for dessert. Here is Bethany with her "Duck-Duck" from Papa.
For a little while, we all listened to the music but then it was time to dance!

Rachel dancing with her Daddy and Bethany dancing with her Papa.
Bekah had a blast dancing too!

A little later in the evening, one of the bands did a kids dance. These girls had some much fun with that!

We had no idea of this when the kids started to dance, but at the end of the song some of the crowd watching tossed out a little bit of change for the kids. Rachel is gathering up some it of here.
Rachel also got to help pick out one of the raffle tickets for the evening.
Just before we had to leave to drive back home, the girls put all their money together so they could get a few pieces of candy each. Rachel worked on  her counting money skills and counted all the change she and her sisters got. They had $3.19. We decided they would each get a dollar to pick out just a little candy.
Here they are making the most of their dollar each!

We had a fun-filled Friday evening at the Floyd Country Store with Papa Jim. Thanks so much for inviting us, Papa! We look forward to meeting you here again!
