Family Movie Night and Ornament Making

Tonight was one of our few nights home at least in early December. We decided on a family movie night and some ornament making. The girls saw Peter Pan in November as performed by the Rockbridge Ballet and so we decided to watch Peter Pan Live as our movie tonight. We enjoyed fun family time together.
Here is the little happy before she decided she was done with movie night and ready for her bed!

While they watched, we worked on their Advent ornaments as well. I read an excellent book earlier this fall and one of the suggestions for around Christmas time was Advent ornaments. This has worked out great for two reasons this year. First, these girls love to make crafts like their Mom and second, because they are at a great age this Christmas season to make the ornaments and understand the devotions too. I am enjoying seeing their creativity in how they each make their ornaments. I also like the Advent ornaments we are working through this year as they are taking us through the whole Bible beginning with Creation and leading up to the coming of Jesus.

Here they are with their Noah's Ark ornaments from tonight. We also worked on Tents for Day 4 reminding us of how God called Abraham to serve Him and follow Him. Here are pictures from Day 2 working on their apples representing Adam and Eve eating the apple and sin coming into the world. Bekah has her sun from Day 1 where we began with God making light and all of creation. We are enjoying going through God's word as we get ready to celebrate Jesus's Birthday!
