RCHS Homecoming 2014

 Friday night we enjoyed going to Rockbridge County High School's Homecoming. We saw a lot of our church family and friends. We enjoyed sitting with the Shermans and visiting with them along with the Colemans, the Moores and several other families. We enjoying watching several of the FMBC youth play football or cheer.

 Bethany enjoyed her first football game. This was really neat for me because one of the first things we did when we moved here almost 3 years ago was go to a RCHS football game. Except that time, Bekah was about 2 months old. So it was neat to see Bethany around the same age at her first RCHS  football game.

 
It was especially a joy to see our friends Christopher and Ana be crowned Homecoming King and Queen. This was so exciting and we are so proud of both Christopher and Ana. Here are the girls with the Homecoming King and Christopher with his Mom and Dad. 

 What a fun Homecoming game! We still have more Homecoming to go this weekend too. We are looking forward to Homecoming at FMBC this weekend as well!

3 Months Old

 On Monday, October 6, 2014, our sweet Bethany Joy turned 3 months old! What a blessing she has been these past 3 months to our family. She is now smiling often at us. I love watching her smile as her whole little face lights up when she smiles. She is "talking" to us a bit more with her little noises and she is sleeping a little longer at night...sometimes.

While she doesn't have a checkup again until 4 months, I am guessing she weighs somewhere between 11 and 12 pounds. She likes sleep with her arms overhead at times like her big sister Rachel did. She is watching both Bekah and Rachel more and more too.
Bethany Joy, we can't believe you are a quarter of the way to your first birthday! We are enjoying everyday with you, sweet girl!

Gideons' Pastors Banquet 2014

 Last night we enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Pastors Banquet that is put on by our local Gideon ministry. The Gideon ministry was founded to share God's Word in local communities and around the world as well. The Gideons in our area host a Pastors Banquet every September. This was our third year attending. We enjoyed both the meal and the time with other families in ministry.

 Another blessing of the evening is that, for the past two years, childcare has also been provided so we could all attend. Thanks to Joey, a Gideon who is a member and deacon at FMBC, and the Gideons for providing childcare as a part of this event! The girls enjoyed the meal as much as we did (fried chicken, roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, salad , cake And pie-YUM!!). The big girls enjoyed playing and watching Veggie Tales too. Bethany also did great. Thank you Josh and Taylor for keeping the little ones so their Moms and Dads could be a part of the meal and program! You all were a blessing to us.

We also had a program and speakers that encouraged us as well. Two of my favorite things during the evening were hearing the entire room singing hymns of the faith together. Let me tell you it was wonderful to hear all these godly men and women singing praises to the LORD together! Also, it was a great blessing and encouragement to hear the Gideons pray for each of the pastors and families present there.

Sunday Fun Day

 

 Today we celebrated Bekah's birthday at church with her friends. She originally requested a Cinderella cake but then decided she liked the Rapunzel cake when we went to order her cake. This was our first time ordering a cupcake cake and I really liked the way it turned out.

 

 She definitely liked the way her cupcake cake tasted also, as you can see!

 

Right after church our children's ministry, Kingdom Kids , headed for Chuck E Cheese. Our girls had been excited about this for weeks. We had sixteen people come for this event. We are going to be doing monthly events with Kingdom Kids and this was their event for September. They actually all did a really good job eating their pizza before they headed out to the games.

 Bekah did decide to get her picture made with Chuck E. This took a little talking to convince her, she wasn't too sure about this at first!

 Thanks to Kay Kay, who came to help us with the kids. We are glad you could come!

She and Sarah both took turns with Bethany for a little while which gave me a bit of time with the big girls.

 We were glad the Lawsons and Stephanie and Joseph were able to come.

 We were glad Sarah, Maverick, Brylen, DJ and Vada were able to come too!

 

 Bethany enjoyed looking around at all the lights and listening to the sounds.

 The kids enjoyed the games but spent a lot of time in the climbing area as well. Actually our girls spent more time here than anywhere else this time.

 Of course, everyone was going in so many different directions that I didn't manage to get a group picture this time. Everyone was having too much fun to stand still for a picture too.
Thanks to all who came and helped make this a great Kingdom Kids event. We are looking forward to "Trunk or Treat" in October!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Rebekah!

Today, our sweet Bekah turns three!! Time is flying by so quickly. It is hard to believe she is 3 already and what a young lady she is becoming too!

 This past year has held some very fun milestones for Bekah. She began her first year of ballet, loved it and has already started her second year. This picture surprised me so much. It was taken in March of this past year. Look how much she has grown up from March to September!!

 Most exciting of all, she became a big sister this year! We call her "the little big sister." She is doing a super job being a big sister. Any time she rides beside Bethany in their car seats, she holds her hand. She loves to hold her with our help. She is doing a great job playing and learning with Rachel too.

Here is her last night as a 2 year old and waking up this morning as a 3 year old.

 She had a fun day today! Here she is with the cupcake (chocolate, of course) that she picked out for today.

 She enjoyed opening a few presents and cards from family too.
