Valentine's Day Tree

Rachel and Rebekah were very excited about Christmas this past year and even though we left our family Christmas tree up until mid-January, they were still not ready for it to be taken down. They had a little 4 foot Christmas tree in their room this year with a few of their favorite ornaments. Once they realized the big tree really had to come down, the next question, of course, was "Do we have to take our tree down yet?"
We agreed that they could leave it up a while longer. So, of course the next question was "Can we leave it up all year?"  We said we will see, so at least for now we have a Valentine's Day Tree.
We were looking for a fun and budget friendly way to decorate their Valentine's Day tree. My friend Anna has shared a easy salt dough recipe that we have used several times. So earlier in January, we made lots of salt dough hearts and a few flowers to decorate their tree. Here they are painting their ornaments. This has made a fun project over a few evenings and almost everything on their Valentine's tree was made by them!

This week we decorated their tree and they are happily counting down the days till Valentine's Day!
