FMBC Fall Festival 2014

Today after church, we held our FMBC Fall Festival. We started with lunch followed by popcorn, cotton candy and candy...lots and LOTS of candy!

 After lunch, everyone got together to decorate their candy bags. After all, you've got to have something to hold all that candy!

Then everyone went into smaller groups to rotate through all the games and activities. Our girls' group headed to the Duck game. In this game, you picked up 3 ducks and based on the numbers on the bottom of the ducks, you got pieces of candy. Here is Bekah showing the duck she picked.
In the next classroom was the "Apple Toss" game. Red Balls took the place of apples and you got candy for each ball you got in the basket. The balls were rimming out of the basket so Pastor Brent took it upon himself to make it even more fun!
This game was probably the hit of the festival. This was the "Bubblegum Pie-Eating Game." Yes, you found a piece of bubblegum in your "pie", which was a bowlful of whipped cream covering the gum. To win, you had to find the piece of gum and be the first to blow a bubble. I included pictures of all the groups because everyone had so much fun with this game.

In the middle of finding their gum...
And at the finish!

Between trying to keep up with the big girls and get pictures of everyone, I did not get a picture of the apple bobbing and the gourd relay. Next year, maybe I will catch those.

Bethany had a great first Fall Festival. She slept the first half and watched all going on and cooed and "talked" through the second half. Thanks to my friend Sarah for helping to keep up with her during the event. Here she is napping and during the cakewalk.

Yes, we finished with a cupcake walk. Bekah did quite well during this! She won 5 cupcakes and that was not even going up every time her number was called. Here is her big sister, who was very excited when she finally won a cupcake. They will certainly have a chance to share this week since we brought home 7 (yes, SEVEN) cupcakes!

Thank you so much to all our youth, cadets and church members who planned, helped and attended our Fall Festival. This event was a blessing to our family and many other families too. We are looking forward to Fall Festival 2015!

We are thankful to our local Kroger in Lexington as well. They were so kind to donate pumpkins for all our attendees to paint as part of our Fall Festival.

Today was a very special Sunday for us! It was a great day for our Fall Festival. In addition, the first Sunday in November also marks our anniversary Sunday at Faith Mountain Baptist Church. Today is our 3rd Anniversary here at FMBC. We are very blessed to serve with our church family here and thank God for His blessings to our family in the past 3 years!

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.

 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders."
